Your Wedding Present Should Be Thoughtful
Summer came together with several wedding invitations. I normally look forward to weddings although the it is the gift buying part which sometimes gives me some problems. I, of course want to buy these couples an ideal gift within a certain budget. If I get invited to the bridal shower as well, then that also accounts for another gift.
Bridal Shower
Buying gifts for the bridal shower is less complicated as you can procure your gift as listed in the wedding registry. If you want to give the gift that you really want to give the bride, you have to go the shop as soon as you get the invitation, otherwise you will be left with gifts that might not be your first choice. Now, the wedding gift is the gift that you have to give more thought to.
Wedding Present - More Thought Required
Maybe I am just too detail oriented, but as much as possible I strive to fit the wedding present to the wedding’s theme. For example, knowing that this couple loves the outdoors, I might give them a nice picnic basket with several bottles of wine. If my gift to them is an appliance like a mixer, I am likely to package this with some favorite recipes of mine or a cookbook.
Personally, I believe that wedding gifts should be portable to facilitate transporting them from the wedding party to the couple’s residence. You should also remember that factor because transporting all those gifts could become a little tricky.
Many times, the type of wedding gift you give can depend on the area the wedding is taking place. Some areas of the country have customary gifts, especially if it is given from a family member. Also, in many areas of the country it is customary to simply give some form of money as a wedding gift. I know in my area of the country, you very rarely see wedding gifts on the table during the wedding, but there are plenty of cards containing money. However, when I go to family weddings in the Midwest, a wedding gift is usually a physical present and not money.
I am certain I will be able to procure suitable gifts for my forthcoming weddings and as usual I will put so much thought in whatever gift I decide to give. Whatever I choose to give in the end I just have to keep in mind that in gift giving, it is the thought that counts. If still my creativity fails me, then cash gift will be my fallback. This, I am sure will also be acceptable.
